ProCash/NDC and ProCash/DDC

Wincor Nixdorf software solution ProCash/NDC and ProCash/DDC designed for simple integration into existing NCR and Diebold ATM Environments

NCR and Diebold have dominated the international market of automated teller machines (ATM) for many years. Both vendors have defined protocols for the network integration of their systems. Wincor Nixdorf  has developed ProCash/NDC and ProCash/DDC to take advantage of Microsoft Windows features like Multithreading Processes, WOSA services, open system environment through the ProTopas architecture . The ability to integrate ProCash/NDC and/or ProCash/DDC in multi-vendor projects (ProCash/NDC running on NCR, ProCash/DDC running on Diebold hardware) is another big advantage of this software architecture.

ProCash/NDC and ProCash/DDC have been developed using the C++ object oriented ProTopas architecture. ProTopas is a flexible development platform for self-service device applications in open system environments. Development with ProTopas means using existing frameworks, modifying existing frameworks and creating new frameworks for the specific self-service application. The application design allows customers to create easily new frameworks of customer specific functions using ProTopas/KIT.

ProCash/NDC contains base functionality from the original NCR Direct Connect (NDC) software provided by NCR. ProCash/DDC contains base functionality from the original Diebold Direct Connect (DDC) software provided by Diebold.

The functionality depends on the host Software (i.e. BASE24). The download of original NDC/DDC customization tables such as states, screens, timers, and FIT, Screens and Parameters controls the terminal. This defines the available functions.

Introducing a number of new functions for intelligent deposits (bill payments, cash-in, chech-in, and cash recycling), its operability and message formats remain compatible with NDC and Diebold message formats. This feature facilitates integration with existing host environments. The vendor independent nature of the software, which is achieved by CEN/XFS compliancy, reduces operational costs normally attributed to managing many versions of existing ATM software.

Since release, 1.3/10 ProCash/NDC and ProCash/DDC support hardware platforms from other vendors as well. This addition of a true multi-vendor software solution allows a mixed hardware environment to standardize a single software solution. The following hardware platforms of other vendors are supported, which can be installed via standard installation procedure via ProInstall:
